Read: Chapters 15 & 16
Reflect: Post your response to the prompt below by Monday morning.
Choose one question below to answer and share:
In chapter 15, Juliani presents some ideas for hybrid teaching that proved effective during remote teaching, including the STEPS Model, the Station-Rotation Model, Choice Boards, and the Discussion Model. But do any of the models he discusses still have value for in-person instruction? Choose one and explain how you think it could work (or has worked), or explain how you would modify the model to work in a classroom with students.
OR
In chapter 16, the author gets real and discusses how students who have spent years playing the game of school will probably push back on a system that offers greater choice and flexibility. What do you think of his counter-arguments for helping students who choose to do nothing? How might you handle a situation where a student chooses the easiest path to a finished product, instead an appropriate level of challenge?
Interact: On Monday, read your colleagues' reflections and respond to at least one other post by sharing a comment, insight, or interesting possibility by next Thursday.
